Words and music are by RJ fan and BLF supporter, Darren Whittaker. Darren recently posted an accapella versh of this on Youtube at www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYBKwwzwni8 or type Rebel Blue into the search box. It's sung by Darren in the key of B, which has several tricky barre chords involved, so I've transcribed the chords into G shapes to capo at the fourth fret for B. I'm counting this in double time, by the way. 1234 1234 not 1-2-3-4. G / / / | G / / / | C/G / / / | G / / / | G / / / | G / / / | Am / Amsus2 / | D7 / / / | G / / / | G / / / | C/G / / / | G / / / G / / / | Em / / / | D / D7 / | G / / / | The change from Am to Amsus2 (optional) isn't near as tricky as it might look like its going to be. Just lift off one finger. Am is X02210 and Amsus2 is just X02200. The C/G is one I use all the time and once you get it under control its easier than a quick shift from G to C. Its played thus.. 3X2013. Damping the 5th string (X) kinda just happens if you let your hand sit in the right place on the fretboard. Use a plain C chord if it proves too awkward, though. These are just my idea of how the chords should be. Hoped it might be handy though, it's a good song and needs to be sung. Ally PS. My suggested tag chord bit between selected verses is.... D - - - | D - - - | D - D - | D / / / | or counted as 1, 1, 1-2, 1234. Just a thought.

I just put a demo of this arrangement up on youtube. only real change is that I ditched the last D7 chord. I focused the camera on the guitar neck (instead of my striking chiseled jaw) to show the chords. The in between bits may not be what Alli had in mind, but it seemed to work for me.

Now times have changed you can’t deny They’ve got our backs up against the wall Workers’ power must organize Or there’ll be no workers’ power at all Corporations rule this land Democracy’s a sham, sir They rob us blind at every turn And they don’t give a d**n, sir
Here’s to the boys in the building trade Under the flag of the old Stockade Down with the right and up with the left And here’s to the lads in the B.L.F.
They bore the brunt of the bosses’ wrath To stand for the rights of the working class Their cause was bagged in papers That I wouldn’t use to wipe my arse Bob Hawke and his traitor crew Conspired with Crabb and Cain, sir To push through anti-union laws For corporation’s gain, sir
The rich get richer by the day The cancer of this nation While workers’ wages fall behind The spiral of inflation Poverty and homelessness Are not the only norm, sir Stand up now for workers’ rights And socialist reform, sir

I swear you guys are the ANTS PANTS!!!! Thank you sooooo much you're brilliant.
Neither of you would know how I could get my hands on a copy of the old BLF songbook? I've looked all over the net and there's not even one in the victorian or national library. It's like it doesn't exist anymore
But again thankyou . You guys are priceless.
